Petitions

Make consideration of non-custodial sentencing mandatory for the sentencing of lower risk offenders

Non-Custodial Sentencing (NCS) provides better rehabilitative opportunities for lower risk offenders than prison does. Prisons are overcrowded and, if sent there, lower risk offenders could be exposed to violent offenders.

By signing our petition, you are indicating your support for our call to have NCS considered for all lower risk offenders who appear before the courts. This would require changes to legislation. A solid base of signatures would aid our lobbying and advocacy efforts.
