Community Crime & Violence Prevention
Objective
To prevent the occurrence of crime and violence
Target Groups

- Community structures such as community policing forums, CBOs, churches, and neighbourhood watches

- Service providers including private practitioners, NGOs, and government departments.
Focus Areas
- Raising awareness about crime and violence
- Crime prevention - identifying and addressing the risk factors, those negative influences in the lives of individuals or a community: broken families, family violence and parental neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, gender-based violence, high unemployment and poverty.
Criminal Justice Services
Objective
To provide alternative options to the court to address the criminogenic needs of offenders (characteristics, traits or issues that directly relate to the individual's likelihood to commit crime and can be targeted for change) and support services to victim
Target Groups
- Individuals in conflict with the law
- Individuals guilty of an offence
- Victims
- Individuals reporting possible crimes.
- Stakeholders (for capacity building purposes)
Focus Areas
- Court work (assessing the offender’s suitability to participate in a relevant service or therapeutic intervention, monitoring compliance and providing feedback reports to the court)
- Identifying and addressing the criminogenic needs of offenders who then participate in appropriate programmes that teach new skills and behaviour
- Building capacity initiatives for stakeholders and victims.
Personal & Professional Development
Objective
To provide psycho- educational -, treatment -, and training programmes that address mental health issues, promote wellness & healthy lifestyles and professional growth & development

- Staff wellness: stress and burnout prevention
- Trauma debriefing and coping skills

- Individual, couples and family counselling for any challenges from anxiety or conflict
Reintegration and Restoration
Objective
To facilitate the successful re-entry of former offenders into society by addressing their needs, supporting families and providing community restorative services.

- Former offenders released from prison

Focus Areas
- Addressing the risk factors and meeting the criminogenic needs of offenders
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to develop thinking skills and strategies to support behaviour change (offenders)
- Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) for enhanced moral reasoning, better decision-making and more appropriate behaviour (offenders)
- Restorative justice processes offered outside the formal criminal justice system to redress the harm done to victims, hold offenders accountable for their actions and engage the community, where appropriate, in the resolution of conflict (offenders, victims, family and community members)
- Promoting successful reintegration and strengthening families by assisting to create conditions that are favourable to the successful return to society such as skills development and employment.
